During the internship, students will have an opportunity to gain knowledge about selected properties of semiconductor materials from both theoretical and practical points of view. The remainder of the basics of solid-state physics and the obtainment of necessary knowledge about the specific heat and thermal conductivity will allow students to understand the Callaway model to perform calculating thermal conductivity. From the practical side, after understanding the basics of experimental methods used for thermal conductivity measurement, students will have an opportunity to take part in the measurements of this property using the 3ω method, actively used nowadays for investigations of thin films and superlattices. The trainee will also be familiarized with the implementation of the Python programming language for computational programs. The internship is addressed to the physics students. Basic knowledge of the Python programming language is preferred but not essential.
